Understand Ticketing and payment processing fees

See how Maaya platform fees and Stripe processing affect paid Ticket Orders.

Free Tickets have no Maaya Ticketing fee. Paid Tickets use separate Maaya and Stripe fee components.

Current default

The default Maaya platform fee is $0.99 per paid Ticket and 0 percent of the Ticket value. An administrator can change the global policy or assign a negotiated account-specific policy.

Stripe processing is estimated separately and is not Maaya revenue. The common estimate shown by Maaya is 2.9 percent plus $0.30, but the provider controls the actual charge.

Choose who pays

Before publishing paid sales, the organizer chooses one Event-level policy:

  • Attendees pay the combined Maaya and Stripe fees.
  • The buyer pays the Ticket total and the fees reduce organizer proceeds.

Pause Ticketing before changing this policy on a published Event.

Each Order keeps the fee policy that was quoted when it was created.

For connected Checkout, Stripe processes the buyer payment on the organizer's connected account. Maaya collects the quoted platform fee through the payment flow, and Stripe sends the remaining organizer proceeds to the payout destination configured in Stripe.
